Sinossi: Limpossibile fuga di una coppia di giovani haitiani, Jean-Baptiste e Magdaleine dai lavori forzati nelle piantagioni di canna da zucchero della Repubblica Dominicana, dopo che il loro bambino muore per denutrizione. La storia di un sogno di libertà e del ritorno ad Haiti in compagnia delladolescente Pierre e di Ernesto, un medico volontario che si occupa dei lavoratori.
Synopsis: A young Haitian couples desperate escape from forced labor in the sugar cane plantations of the Dominican Republic. After Jean-Baptiste and Magdaleines child dies from starvation, they decide to flee the country in the company of Pierre, an adolescent, and Ernesto, a volunteer doctor who looks after workers. The story of a dream for freedom and returning to Haiti.

| Biografia / Biography: Fin dai suoi primi film, Claudio Del Punta si è interessato a realtà lontane ritraendo personaggi che si discostano dalla sua quotidianità. A media luz, il suo primo mediometraggio, racconta una vicenda di gente di colore accompagnata dai tanghi di Astor Piazzolla. Punto di fuga riscopre Roma attraverso lo sguardo di un pianista inglese, mentre Trafitti da un raggio di sole è una commedia che ha per protagonisti alcuni artisti immigrati in Italia. Il cortometraggio Gioco di squadra, storia di unadolescente che scopre di essere sieropositiva, è stato presentato alla Mostra di Venezia e ha ottenuto diversi premi. Nel 2000 Del Punta ha firmato Femminile, singolare, commedia che narra di un giovane pittore frustrato dalle poche prospettive che la società italiana gli offre. Dal 2003 ha realizzato diversi documentari sui Caraibi, in particolare su Cuba, Haiti e Repubblica Dominicana. Since his first film Claudio Del Punta has been interested in distant realities and characters far from his own daily experience. A media luz, his first mid-length film, portrays the lives of people of color, accompanied by the tangos of Astor Piazzola. Wild Obsession rediscovers Rome through the eyes of an English pianist, while Pierced by a Ray of Sun is a comedy about artist-immigrants in Italy. The short film Gioco di squadra, the story of an adolescent who discovers he is HIV positive, was presented at the Venice Film Festival where it won several awards. In 2000 Del Punta released Femminile, singolare, a comedy about a young painter frustrated by the limited opportunities offered by Italian society. In 2003 he produced various documentaries on the Caribbean Islands, in particular, Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.
